VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Greenville Area Parkinson Society is always looking for volunteers to help with our programs and community events. We have places for weekly, monthly, or occasional involvement!

Administrative Support

Stuff envelopes, fold mailers, prepare folders, write thank-you notes.

~Two hours monthly.

 

Event Committee Member

Participate in planning and executing our yearly fundraising events on a working committee.

~Four hours monthly with increasing time commitment as event nears.

 

Event Support (Socials, Lunch & Learn, GAPS Connect and other events) 

Help with set-up, registration, welcome greeters, lunch set up and service, clean up.

~Times flexible.

 

GAPS Ambassador 

Act as a community liaison and deliver GAPS brochures to various upstate businesses you already frequent. Track your drop-offs on a spreadsheet and communicate regularly.

~Flexible times; approximately every 4 weeks.

 

GAPS in Motion! (training required) 

Lead a Parkinson-specific fitness class for our mem­bers at Greenville location.

~One hour monthly or as a substitute.

 

GAPS Recharged (training required) 

Interact with our members at our respite care day. Play games, do crafts, have lively discussions.

~Three hours monthly and as a substitute. This program is currently suspended.

 

Member Relations Call members, donors, and other volunteers as needed for special commu­nications.

~Times flexible as needed.

 

Support Group Facilitators 

Lead video call for one of two monthly, virtual groups, one for People With Parkinson's and one for Care Partners/Family Members. Various in-person Upstate locations and days available each month (Anderson, Mauldin, Seneca, and Simpsonville) .

~Approxi­mately an hour and a half monthly or as a substitute.
