MENTORING
GAPS_Mentoring_1.png

GAPS offers a valuable program called Mentoring, which pairs individuals newly diagnosed with Parkinson's disease with experienced mentors who have been living with the condition for some time. This peer-to-peer support initiative provides emotional encouragement, practical advice, and a sense of community for those navigating the challenges of Parkinson's. The mentors share their personal experiences, offer insights into managing symptoms, and help newcomers adjust to the changes in their lives. Through this program, GAPS fosters a supportive network that empowers participants to live more confidently and actively with Parkinson’s disease, promoting both emotional well-being and a better quality of life.

If you are a person with Parkinson's or a care partner and are interested in being a mentor to your peers, please call 864-477-0290 or use our Contact Page.

"Friends are those rare people who ask how we are and then wait to hear the answer."
