GAPS Mentoring is a one-to-one, advisory relationship between a newly-diagnosed person/care partner and an existing GAPS member/care partner who has been living well with PD to offer advice and encouragement for the journey.

If you are a person with Parkinson's or a care partner and are interested in being a mentor to your peers, please call 864-905-2574 or use our Contact Page.

This program can be done through phone calls or video chat.

Contact us today and we can put you in touch with one of our fabulous mentors!

GAPS Connection is volunteer or staff calls to the members. All members receive personal phone calls so they can know they are not alone. Isolation is a major challenge for GAPS members. As part of our mission to walk with those who are walking with PD, we call them to ensure that each member feels they are a valuable part of our community.

GAPS SUPPORT GROUPS

ALL ON-SITE SUPPORT GROUPS ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

HOWEVER, SEE BELOW ON HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN AN ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP!

Every week, GAPS facilitates local support groups for both the people with Parkinson’s and their care partners.  These are offered at different locations throughout the Upstate to accommodate members in all areas. These groups are a critical part of our community where members are able to share their challenges and triumphs as well as ask questions about symptoms, issues, and concerns from people who are walking a similar path. We encourage all members to find a group that suits their needs and plug in for encouragement and support.

VIRTUAL SUPPORT GROUPS!

Since you can't meet in person right now, our Facilitators are providing a weekly opportunity to participate in GAPS Support Groups online through Zoom Video Conferencing*. No matter which Support Group you may have attended locally, this is an opportunity to join ALL of your GAPS family and peers at once!

However, we still have the ability to have separate meetings, one for the Caregivers and one for the Person With Parkinson's.

Tuesdays (Caregivers)   ~   3:00pm - 4:00pm

Thursdays (PWP's)   ~   3:00pm - 4:00pm

On the appropriate day and time, you will need to click your "Join Zoom Meeting" link (below).

The links will remain the same from week to week. So if you can't join one week, the link will remain the same for the following week(s). You may want to copy a link and create a recurring appointment in your personal, digital calendar as a reminder to yourself.
